Jackie Edens has been a singer and a music lover for most of her life. She has sung in several choirs and vocal groups, and is currently a lead singer for the worship team at her church. Jackie plays the clarinet and a little piano and has sung in two major musical productions: one at the Arco Arena and one at the HP Pavilion. She has taken several music classes at De Anza College as well as private music and voice lessons.
Jackie started teaching Music Together in 2007 and really enjoys teaching. She got started after bringing her youngest daughter to classes when she was only 7 months old and she is now almost 4. After seeing how much this program has enriched her children’s lives it was just natural for her to become a teacher and enjoy enriching the lives of other wonderful babies and children . Also, since she has such a great love for teaching children, Music Together became the obvious choice in her search for a job that she was looking for but didn’t know existed. Teaching these classes has been both a blessing and a pleasure.
Jackie spends most of her time being a mommy and taking care of her 3 children and husband and home. She likes hiking, working out, reading, making and spending time with friends. She loves Starbucks coffee, sushi and shopping at the mall.

Polly comes to Music Together with great enthusiasm because she loves every activity that supports healthy and joyful bonding between parents and children. She has a B.S. in Human Development from UC Davis, and a M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University.
Polly has worked as a preschool teacher, an elementary school counselor, and a parenting instructor. Licensed as a marriage and family therapist, Polly has a part time private practice affiliated with Hope Counseling Center of Silicon Valley.
For many years an oboist, now Polly plays soprano saxophone with a worship team and recorder for fun and for Music Together. She also played handbells with the Celebration Ringers and directed a youth handbell choir. Still, Polly thinks her best preparation for teaching Music Together was singing silly songs in the car on long road trips as a child and having daily “Sing Times” with her 3 sons when they were small. Now that they’ve grown up, she looks forward to helping families create similar traditions through Music Together.

Sarah Pursell is Mark’s wife and Sadie’s mommy. She’s also a brand new Music Together teacher, trained in 2008!
Sarah has been working with kids since she was 18 years old. She began working at a summer camp in Southern California right after high school, eventually became the camp director, and ended up working there for seven summers! She taught herself how to play the guitar because, well…you really can’t work at camp and not play the guitar! After college, Sarah worked at a YMCA after school day camp where she led music with youth.
She then moved to Santa Cruz, where she taught outdoor Education at Mt. Hermon Camp, singing and dancing her way through the forest with 5th and 6th graders everyday. After tearing her ACL and meniscus, her hiking days were over, so she moved back to Southern California where she worked in Children’s Ministry at two churches in Orange County. She was the Director of Programming and Production at Coast Hills Community Church for two years. In this job, she not only got to work with hundreds of amazing kiddos, but she got to plan all the music they sang, teach the band how to lead, and she even got to lead herself! More about Sarah Pursell.
