Canta y Baila Conmigo® (CYBC)

Canta y Baila Conmigo (0 - 5 years)

Canta y Baila Conmigo creates a playful, interactive atmosphere where language-learning is natural and organically integrated into the musical experience. CyBC appeals to a wide variety of families, from native and heritage Spanish speakers to brand new Spanish-learners.  It is different from other early childhood language offers in that, rather than “teaching Spanish vocabulary through songs,” CyBC teaches the “Spanish language through music.”  Because of the quality of the music experience, families come for the language and stay for the music.

Music Together® - Babies (Birth-8 months)

Babies (0 - 8 mos)

Every child's musical development benefits from early exposure to music and movement. Because the early years are so important, Music Together offers two options for babies. Infants may attend a mixed-age class, whether registered on their own or attending free with an older sibling. They may also be regsitered for the special "Babies Class" offered as a one-semester introduction to Music Together. The music activities and materials are specially designed for parents and caregivers who want to learn as much as possible about music development in infants. Meet other parents of newborns and learn fascinating music activities you can recreate at home with your baby. Babies must be under seven months old on the first day of class. This class cannot be repeated.

Music Together - Mixed Age

Mixed Ages (0 - 5 years)

This is the essential Music Together class, one that a child can attend from birth through age five - and through all nine song collections. Child develoment researchers recommend mixed-age groupings because they foster natural, family-style learning. Younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones; and adults are happy because the children in the family can go to class together. Each child participates at his or her own level in singing, moving, chanting, listening, watching, and exploring musical instruments. The class provides a variety of adult-child activities that are fun and offer new ways to play musically at home. The whole family is welcome for this important family music experience.

Music Together-Rhythm Kids

Rhythm Kids is an exciting music, movement, and drumming class for children ages 6 through 8. Rhythm KIDS classes lay the foundation for Basic Music Literacy, complementing in-school music instruction or instrument lessons and leading to a lifetime of joyful music-making. The curriculum includes solos and ensembles, folk dances, harmony singing, vocal development, and drumming. In a safe and fun environment, your child can experiment with new activities like game songs, story songs, conducting, improvisation, and composition.

Learn multicultural drumming patterns; develop new repertoire on various percussion instruments; explore movement and dance while singing songs; play games based on music and drumming; have fun with a host of rhythm activities.

As part of the Rhythm Kids experience, children and their grownups can enjoy drumming play and practice sessions at home with the help of online play-along videos featuring Rhythm Kids creator Tom Foote.

Course Materials: Students purchase their own hand drum (djembe) for use at home and in class. MusicalMe will provide discounted sources for a beautiful instrument that will provide many years of rhythm fun for your child.

Ages: 4 - 8 yrs
